The Health of Local Health Care:
Right in Your Own Back Yard

MRI being installed Your doctor has just told you that you need to have an MRI (or maybe a CT scan, mammogram, bone scan, etc.). Where do you think you need to go for the most up-to-date equipment and renowned radiology physicians? Well, right in your own back yard.

Arlington's Cascade Valley Hospital is in the midst of expanding and upgrading its Diagnositc Imaging Center with some of the most advanced medical technology available. The same capability you would find at the nation's leading clinics to pinpoint injuries, diagnose cardiac problems and perofrm pediatric assessments is now right here at Cascade Valley Hospital.

The importance of all these diagnostic tools cannot be underestimated. They have nearly eliminated the need for invasive exploratory surgery and surgical biopsy. Now we can virtually see right through you. The exams are fast and simple. For example, in trauma cases they can reveal internal injuries and bleeding quickly enough to save lives.

Already proving their importance in the speed with which scans can be performed are multi-slice CT scanner and leading-edge ultrasound equipment. Scans that used to take five minutes to perform now can be accomplished in 20 seconds!

On Wednesday, April 6 another important addition arrived. The $1.6 million MRI unit at Cascade Valley features the most recent advances in comprehensive diagnostics imaging. The system uses state-of-the-art software and has advantages over lower strength magnets. It has the potential of providing a series of excellent images in a short period of time, allowing more patients to have access to the scanner's capabilities. A new building has been constructed to house the new unit and is available five days a week.

No more driving half the day or waiting weeks for an appointment out of town. Now you can get world-class diagnostics, right in your own back yard.
