Care Provider Focus: Storks don't bring babies, but...
|
We all know storks don't bring babies. Right. But maybe, just maybe, babies bring storks!
In July, Dr. Timothy Ramsden joined Drs. Hoffman and Eggers at the Cascade Valley Arlington Women's Health (CVAWH) clinic. With him, he brought a lot of knowledge. He also brought new ideas and an enthusiasm for reaching out to the community. One idea is just about ready to take flight. (Sorry, that pun was intended.)
Dr. Ramsden's personally designed and painted flock of storks will soon begin appearing in front of area houses. Not just any random houses mind you, but ones where babies, delivered by the three CVAWH docs, come home to live. Parents will be able to choose, while at Cascade Valley Hospital Family Birthing Center, whether they want the stork to arrive at their home or not. If they want to announce the arrival of their newest family member in this way, the stork will fly in to roost for a couple of weeks.
Dr. Ramsden has three children of his own and admits that, "Watching my oldest daughter being born led me to Obstetrics and Gynecology."
He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1999, going on to complete internship and residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
"I chose medicine as my life's work because of a desire to be of benefit to society," shares Dr. Ramsden. "I believe every patient deserves compassionate and respectful care from a doctor who respects your privacy."
