Brian Ivie - Superintendent and Chief Executive Officer for Skagit Regional Health

The Board of Commissioners of Public Hospital District No. 1, Skagit Regional Health voted on a resolution last month to announce Brian Ivie, a highly experienced health care leader from California, as their selection for Chief Executive Officer of Skagit Regional Health.

Ivie started work in early November as a special assistant to the CEO and then transitioned to the Superintendent/CEO role. Current President and CEO Mike Liepman will retire on Dec. 31, 2017 after more than five years with Skagit Regional Health and a 41-year career in health care.

The seven-member, publicly elected Board of Commissioners is charged was the selection of the Superintendent/CEO.

“As a Board, we feel strongly that Brian brings the experience, talent and energy we need to advance the mission of Skagit Regional Health in providing exceptional health care to the residents of the communities we serve,” said Board President Bruce Lisser.

Ivie most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of three facilities operated by Dignity Health including Mercy San Juan Medical Center, a 370-bed acute care facility in Carmichael, California; Methodist Hospital of Sacramento, a 162-bed acute care facility in Sacramento; and Bruceville Terrace, a 171-bed long-term care and skilled nursing facility in Sacramento. He has experience with for-profit and not-for-profit organizations
