During the month of October the Imaging Department of Cascade Valley Hospital kept its doors open late on Wednesday’s to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Patients were able to schedule appointments as late as 8 PM, even without a referral.
The department saw 226 patients in the month of October; 99 more than the previous month. In just the first four days of November Imaging had already seen over 50 patients. With the momentum that Breast Cancer Awareness Month has generated we hope to see well over 200 patients per month until the end of the year.
Early detection is key to beating breast cancer. Monthly self-examinations combined with annual mammograms are crucial to early detection.
